Live racing dates in 2010 are April 16 – July 14 (Live Thoroughbred & Quarter Horse Meet) and July 23 – November 9 (Live Harness Meet).
A full-card simulcast wagering facility at the track features
thoroughbred and harness races from across the country
and is open throughout the year.
A satellite wagering facility opened in Evansville during
the first quarter of 2003 to serve residents of Soutwestern
Indiana.
A second satellite facility in Clarksville opened in March of 2004 to serve Southern Indiana.
The track, located just south of Indianapolis’ I-465
on I-74 at Fairland Road in Shelby County, features the
full-service Silks and Sulkies restaurant with seating
for approximately 375.
The track has facilities that can be rented for business
entertaining, including track-side suites on the top level.
In addition,
the Starting Gate gift shop offers stationery, general
giftware, accessories and other items.
The first-floor Family Pavilion is non-smoking and offers
an arcade, The "E & J Cafe" concession stand, the Starting Gate gift shop and the Party Room (a casual event area).
Indiana Downs also offers group packages. The $30/person
rate includes official
program, Winner’s Circle presentation with 1 complimentary 8 x 10 photo, buffet, and a race named in honor of the group.
Indiana Downs has an indoor seating capacity of approximately
3,000 and is sited on an approximately 200-acre tract. Construction costs
total approximately $35 million (including two satellite
wagering facilities). Construction Manager was Turner Construction
Co., Indianapolis, and the architect was Creative Industries,
Inc.
Indiana Live! Casino opened with a temporary 70,000-square-foot pavilion in June of 2008 and gave way to the sprawling, 233,000-square-foot permanent Indiana Live! Casino connected to the Indiana Downs clubhouse. The permanent Casino opened in March of 2009.
The track is owned by Oliver Racing, LLC. General Manager is Jon Schuster.
